THANKS TO CALVARY BAPTIST MINISTRIES, INC. AT A GLANCE

A Bit of Background

TTCBM is a non profit faith based homeless ministry that was founded in July 2019.

Our mission is to share the hope and love of Jesus Christ by meeting spiritual and physical needs with those who are less fortunate than most of us.  Our belief is the only way for anyone to change their circumstances is through Jesus Christ.  The Lord says in Luke 14:23 (Jesus speaking) “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”  The whole basis of Thanks to Calvary Baptist Ministries is to be a bridge to Christ for the people who have lost all hope in this life; to share with them the only hope we all have is Jesus Christ.

ABOUT US

Behind the Scenes

Here at Thanks to Calvary Baptist Ministries, we believe that every person is worth something to Christ.  He loves each of us and wants everyone to have the opportunity to be in Heaven one day.  It does not matter to Christ what you have done in the past, He loves you so much that He gave His life for you on the cross of Calvary.

The Lord burdened my heart to show the people who have been forgotten, those stricken by poverty and those who have no place to call home, the need for Christ and the love He has for them by meeting their physical needs and building a relationship with them.  Praying eventually they will come to know Christ as their Savior and build a relationship with Him.

Romans 10:14 says “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?  and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?  and how shall they hear without a preacher?”  God has called me to be that preacher.

Thank you for visiting our website.  Please keep us in your prayers.

What we do:

Our prayer is to start rescue missions in or near Washington County,  VA.

Day Centers:  We have planted a day center in Bristol, VA at 611 W Mary St.  We partnered with Anchor Baptist Church and started a temporary "showers of blessings" ministry when the global pandemic first started, so that those who are homeless would have a place to shower.  This ministry grew into a day center.  Our first day was December 1, 2020.

Rescue missions:  Start a rescue mission in Washington County, VA.  Washington County, VA is located just North of Bristol, VA/TN.  There is one faith based homeless mission in Bristol, TN but once you head North there is not another until you reach Roanoke, VA (about a two-hour drive).  We are a small rural community and yet our homeless population is growing.  The Lord has given me a burden for our homeless in the smaller communities.  Most every county has an animal shelter, yet we do not have a shelter for people to get in from the outside elements.  I don’t believe that the Lord intended for us to treat animals better than people, yet that’s exactly what we are doing.

Resource Clinics:  A resource clinic is a one-day event generally on a Saturday where we partner with a church or churches wanting to do an outreach to the homeless.  We give out many different resources such as, Bibles, Reading glasses, a hot meal, clothing, haircuts, medical screenings, and most importantly the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.    This event takes lots of volunteers, but it is a fun and rewarding day where we can share the love of Christ.

Resource Revivals:  A resource revival is very similar to the clinic except we usually have a two or three day tent meeting in the evening and give out resources during the day.

Help churches start ministries to homeless:  Many churches want to start ministries to the homeless, yet they don’t know where to start.  The Lord has called me to be a help to the churches to start these ministries, to help educate the local church on how to talk with the homeless and earn their trust so that they can become a part of the local church.

We not only want to see the homeless and poverty-stricken communities saved by Jesus Christ but also discipled and serving in the local church.
